Service Learning Program PDF Print E-mail

As an integral part of the educational experience Pan-American School requires that all students participate in service-oriented projects.

We consider Service Learning important in developing social awareness, a sense of responsibility and respect for other human beings and for the environment. It contributes to developing solidarity which becomes the foundation for a lifelong commitment to service. In addition, students achieve personal satisfaction by helping other human beings and protecting the environment.

Some Service Learning projects are conducted on a regular schedule (Amigos del Aprendizaje, Mapache Program) and others are occasional.

In addition, every year the school identifies social outreach projects for fundraising activities or donations in kind. In addition, occasional "Jeans Days" are organized to raise funds for specific causes. On these days, persons wearing jeans donate a set sum for the chosen cause or organization.
